It's that time of year again! That wild time when fall is just giving hints of coming to Maryland and you are thinking more about Halloween candy than Christmas trees.
The Cheverly Community Market is teaming up with Mayne's Tree Farm again to offer Maryland-grown Christmas trees and fresh handmade wreaths. Reserve yours by October 25, and you'll have a gorgeous, local tree waiting for you at pickup, with no lot-hopping, no picked-over selection, and no dragging the kids out in the cold to find the last decent Fraser fir.
Yes, we know it's early. But Mayne's needs to set aside trees in the field for our order. Their cut-your-own trees often sell out over Thanksgiving weekend.
Your tree does more than look good in the living room. Every tree and wreath sold supports the Market's Nutritional Benefits (SNAP/WIC) matching program, which we're proud to say is one of the most generous in the area. Here, every dollar goes twice as far, so more families can bring home fresh, local food, and our farmers can put that food into more hands and more bellies.

Trees must be pre-ordered by noon on Sunday, October 25.

We will have very few extra trees on hand and encourage everyone to pre-order their tree.

Tree Options

We are selling two types of trees, Douglas and Fraser Fir, in the following sizes: 5-6 feet; 6-7 feet; and 7-8 feet.

If you are looking for a 7-foot tree, we highly recommend ordering in the 7-8 ft range to avoid getting a tree that falls closer to 6 ft.

Keep in mind that our trees come from a small, family-run farm rather than a commercial operation that churns out identical trees. Each tree is lush and stunning, with unique characteristics that vary from season to season.

22" Evergreen Wreaths are $30. The farm needs wreath orders as soon as possible because they are handmade.

Fraser Fir
FRASER firs have short, dark green needles with silvery undersides that show when the branches turn upward. Those sturdy, upturned branches are strong enough to carry heavy ornaments. Its lovely fragrance makes it one of the most popular Christmas trees.

Douglas Fir
DOUGLAS firs have soft, blue-green to bright green needles that radiate in all directions from the branch, giving the tree a full, natural look. The needles are slightly longer and softer than a Frasers. Releases a sweet, pleasant fragrance with hints of citrus or orange when crushed.

Tree ordering process
Ordering ends Sunday, October 25th at noon. We must submit our order to the farm on a tight deadline. We want to make your holiday dreams come true, but we cannot accept late orders.

If you wish to pay by check or cash, you must place your order at the market. Please come by the CCM welcome table to place your order.

Tree Pick Up

Trees and wreaths will be available for pick up Saturday, December 5th from 7:30-10:00 a.m. at the Cheverly Community Center parking lot.

Please bring your email confirmation to pick up your tree and/or wreath.

We may have a few extra trees, but pre-ordering is the only way to guarantee we will have a tree for you.
